Great care should be taken with regard to the resistance to fire and the potential for escape from all buildings, whatever their construction material.

A key advantage of CLT is its inherent fire resistance. CLT burns very slow and very predictable. It maintains the inner core. In most cases, the charring of the timber surface during a fire protects the material beneath which maintains its structural integrity. In this way, significant structural fire protection can be achieved within the material items and CLT panels can be produced with fire resistances of up to 60 minutes. This will give first responders enough time to put out the heat source.
